Position
profile: WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is
establishing a Senior Health Promotion Officer recruitment
pool to fill multiple vacancies across country Western
Australia. Applicants are encouraged to indicate in their
application which regions or towns they would be interested in
relocating to, as opportunities will be available across the
state.
The Senior Health Promotion Officer
is a leadership-focused and community-driven
position. You will take responsibility for more complex
health promotion portfolios and challenging programs, working
closely with communities, key stakeholders, and your line manager
to lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation
of culturally appropriate health promotion programs, address local,
state, and national population health priorities through
evidence-based strategies, provide guidance and mentorship to
Health Promotion Officers and other team members, manage
stakeholder consultation processes and foster strong partnerships
across government, non-government, and community sectors and
contribute to innovative, sustainable approaches that improve
health outcomes in rural and remote WA. This role offers the chance
to shape and influence health promotion practice at a senior level,
while making a tangible impact on the wellbeing of country WA
communities.
We are seeking individuals who can
demonstrate proven experience in leading health promotion program
planning, development, implementation, and evaluation, advanced
communication skills and the ability to consult, negotiate, and
collaborate with diverse stakeholders, developing leadership
qualities, with the capacity to manage complex portfolios and guide
junior staff, passion for public health and commitment to improving
community-level health outcomes as well as sound problem solving
skills, adaptability, and the ability to deliver results in
challenging environments.
