About The Role:

As the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chief Procurement Officer, the role is responsible for leading the Department’s financial strategy, governance, and operations. This includes oversight of budgeting, financial planning, reporting, procurement, and contract management, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and alignment with government priorities. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO drives financial performance, risk management, and reform initiatives. The role leads the development of financial policies and systems, manages complex funding arrangements, and ensures transparency and accountability in financial operations. It also plays a critical role in shaping budget submissions, capital investment strategies, and financial modelling to support service delivery and infrastructure planning.

Through strategic leadership and collaboration, the CFO promotes a culture of integrity, continuous improvement, and capability development across the finance function, contributing to the Department’s long-term financial sustainability and operational excellence.

Your leadership skills will champion contemporary people management practices, foster collaborative behaviour and you communicate complex information clearly to engage and influence stakeholders.

As a key senior leader at the Department, the Chief Finance Officer will embrace and exemplify our values.

This position is a Multiple Area Leader. This means that you will lead teams to achieve the strategic direction of a number of different business areas or key priorities.
