About Our Team:

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

About the Role:

CAMHS is seeking to appoint board-approved Senior Clinical Psychologists who can provide an advanced clinical psychological service to infants, children, young people, and their families as well as consultation, education, and supervision, on complex mental health/psychological disorders within a multidisciplinary and professional team context.

Senior Clinical Psychologist positions are available within our three CAMHS directorates and you will be asked to submit your work preferences with your application submission.

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist at CAMHS, you will provide expert clinical psychology assessment and intervention services for complex mental health disorders in children and adolescents, contribute to multidisciplinary teams with a high level of expertise, and maintain a strong awareness of current clinical practice and research.

Some of your key accountabilities will include:

  • Provision of a high level of clinical expertise at both systems and individual level relating to complex mental health/psychological disorders.
  • Expert consultation regarding services and/or policies and procedures, with other clinical psychologists and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination and implementation of advanced treatment protocols or assessment procedures relating to complex mental health/psychological disorders and disseminating to other health professionals.
  • Provision of training and supervision at a highly advanced level for students, registrars, clinical psychologists and/or other health professionals.
  • Implementation of training programs for clinical psychologists and/or other professionals. And psychological research and/or evaluation including the areas of complex mental health/psychological disorders in children and adolescents.
