This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.

About the role

The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) promotes and protects the rights of adults with decision-making disabilities to reduce their risk of neglect, exploitation and abuse through the provision of its statutory services in accordance with the functions of the Public Advocate under Guardianship and Administration Act 1990.

The Legal Assistant is a newly created position within OPA’s newly developed legal team. The team includes a Principal Legal Officer, Senior Legal Officer, Paralegal and Legal Assistant. In the initial stages of commencement, the Principal Legal Officer will lead the team in the implementation of OPA’s legal team.

The Legal Assistant will provide a broad range of secretarial, clerical and administrative support to OPA’s legal team. The work allocated will be subject to direction and supervision from the Principal Legal Officer and Senior Legal Officer and will support legal matters of a complex and/or sensitive nature

Eligibility

Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment
