The minimum starting renumeration for this position (salary plus loading) is $105,494 per annum, increasing each year of successful service to $113,251.

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Male Senior Boarding Supervisor to join the leadership team at Albany Residential College. We provide a safe, secure, caring and supportive environment where boarding students can have privacy and room to grow. Our college is just a short walk from the Albany city centre, with space for over 100 boarding students. All students have their own room with boys and girls accommodated in separate wings.

The Role

This leadership position oversees the boarding program by managing and supporting boarding supervisors, ensuring staff are trained, performance is reviewed, and activities are well-coordinated to foster student wellbeing and development. The position deputises for the College Manager when required, contributes to human resource and administrative functions, and upholds Department policies, duty of care, and professional standards. 

This position also plays a key part in promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for students by coordinating leisure opportunities, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping and reporting requirements. By supporting both staff and students, this position helps strengthen the overall operations of Albany Residential College and contributes to its ongoing growth and success.

Eligibility

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
  • Obtain or hold (and maintain) a current Working with Children Check;
  • Work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays;
  • Obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current:
    • First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID009); and
    • First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID0011);
  • Within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current:
    • LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation;
    • Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award*; and
    • Surf Rescue Certificate*;
  • Obtain a current Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement of employment.

* Dependent on operational requirements as determined by College Manager
