Shape the Future of Western Australia’s Road Network

Main Roads WA is seeking an experienced and motivated Barrier Marking Coordinator to provide specialist expertise in barrier line marking standards, assessments, technologies and processes across the State’s road network. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, consistency and quality of road infrastructure relied upon by millions of Western Australians.

In this position, you will lead the development, maintenance and delivery of technical standards and guidelines for barrier line marking. You will ensure that Main Roads’ technical information remains current, accurate and of the highest quality, while reviewing and auditing consultant work to confirm compliance with our requirements. You will also contribute expert advice to policy and strategy development related to barrier line marking across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical expertise in barrier line marking, supported by practical experience in road-traffic assessments and spatial data management. You will be confident applying road construction knowledge, interpreting technical standards and guiding consultants and stakeholders to achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes. Your ability to build effective relationships, manage audits and projects, and uphold safety and compliance standards will be essential to your success.

About You

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in barrier line marking, including technical analysis and specialist advisory work
  • Strong knowledge of road construction, traffic management practices and survey audit processes
  • Confidence working with spatial data, measurements and digital data management tools
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across government, industry and the community
  • Experience in contract and project management, ensuring projects meet technical and organisational standards

This is a dynamic and varied role and may require you to undertake short-term assignments in regional locations to support operational needs and broaden your professional experience.
