This position is responsible for interpreting and applying planning legislation, and standards and the provision of specialist technical advice and guidance on a wide range of planning issues across the State. Typical tasks of the role include:

  • Assessment and review of planning referrals for development applications,
  • Subdivision applications,
  • Local Development Plans,
  • Improvement Plans,
  • Structure Plans, and
  • Planning Schemes.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communications skills,
  • Ability to negotiate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders,
  • Proficient in achieving balanced transport planning outcomes,
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment,
  • Lead pre-lodgement meetings and stakeholder engagement,
  • Support process improvement, and
  • Be adaptive, focused and professional.
