Position
Profile
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior
Physiotherapist with advanced clinical skills and
experience in the assessment and management of orthopaedic
conditions to join our multidisciplinary team based at Perth
Children’s Hospital and Neonatology.
Working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will
provide advanced clinical physiotherapy services across a broad
caseload from admission through to discharge and effective
follow-up in outpatient settings. This includes: elective and
trauma-based orthopaedic inpatients, post-operative care, plastics
inpatients and specialty orthopaedic outpatient clinics such as:
external fixation frame management, clubfoot, CP post-operative
clinics and general orthopaedic follow-up.
You will provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and
students, engaging as a mentor and modelling advanced practice to
enhance the team’s overall clinical capability and delivery of
safe, family-centred care. In addition, you will contribute to
service development, and work alongside another Senior
Physiotherapist and the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Coordinator to
drive quality improvement and innovation across the service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering and coordinating advanced physiotherapy
assessment, intervention and evaluation for paediatric
orthopaedic patients.
- Providing senior clinical consultancy and advice to
physiotherapists, allied health professionals and clinical
teams.
- Leading and supervising P1 physiotherapists, Allied Health
Assistants and students.
- Supporting safe discharge planning, parent/carer education
and continuity of care across settings.
- Participate in weekend and after-hours rosters as
required.
- Contribute to evidence-based practice, research and service
improvement initiatives.
- Ensure clinical documentation, safety, quality and
professional standards align with AHPRA and CAHS
requirements.
A Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current AHPRA
registration is required for this role.

Team
Located at Perth Children’s Hospital, we provide a statewide
service to children aged 0-16, including inpatient and outpatient
care, with transition support for those over 16. Through telehealth
and partnerships with community services, we deliver rehabilitation
closer to home for rural and regional outpatients.
Our multidisciplinary teams focus on prevention and
rehabilitation, offering early intervention and evidence-based
treatments for various conditions, including neurological,
respiratory, musculoskeletal, oncology, and bladder and bowel
issues. We aim to minimise the impact of medical conditions,
enabling children to return home quickly and enhance wellbeing,
independence, and participation in daily activities to improve
children’s quality of life.

quality improvement culture is complemented by a dedicated Research
Coordinator and Clinical Educator, supporting staff learning,
research planning, and postgraduate studies.
