WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is offering a unique
opportunity for Consultants in Emergency Medicine and General
Practitioners to join the WA Virtual Emergency Department of the
State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) in Perth, WA.
This is a recruitment pool to fill
current Fixed-Term Various (Sessional, Part-time, or Full-Time)
appointments. Present Funding is to 31/12/2028 with the position
subject to extension(s) and/or permanency if ongoing funding is
secured.
Consultant Year 1-9: $412,161 -
$523,436 per annum pro rata*
Sessional Year 1- 9: $790.09 -
$1,003.40*
General Practitioner Medical
Practitioners Agreement Year 1 -4:
$377,205 - $413,945 p.a. pro
rata*
The above salary is as per WA Health
System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024
(inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation, and PD allowance).
*Subject to the assessment of clinical skills and
years of practice.
About the WA Virtual
Emergency Department
The WA Virtual Emergency
Department (WAVED) is an initiative managed by the State Health
Operations Centre (SHOC) in 2023, providing opportunity to provide
patients with the option of being seen virtually in the comfort of
their own home when safe and appropriate to do so, as opposed to
waiting in an emergency department (ED). The overarching aim of
WAVED is to improve access to care and provide treatment options
that achieve equally good or better patient outcomes without the
need to physically visit and Emergency Department. WAVED partners
with multiple other agencies to help deliver the care the patient
requires.
About the
Position
The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) is seeking
experienced Specialists in Emergency Medicine, Paediatric Emergency
Medicine and General Practice to provide comprehensive clinical
management of patients with acute and unplanned medical problems.
You will provide comprehensive clinical management of these
patients presenting to the WAVED with an Emergency Medicine
assessment, advice and management via video consultation. When it
is safe and sensible to do so patients will be managed at home.
To be eligible for these
roles, you must meet the following requirements:
1. WA Virtual Emergency Department
(General)
Current registration as Specialist in
Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
2. WA Virtual Emergency Department Kids (Paediatric
sub-service)
Current registration as Specialist in the
specialty field of Paediatric Emergency Medicine (FRACP)
OR registration as Specialist in Emergency
Medicine (FACEM), with current experience in Paediatric Emergency
Medicine.
3. WA Virtual Emergency Department General
Practitioner
Fellow of the Royal Australian College of
General Practitioners (RACGP) or equivalent that is recognised for
registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of
Australia.

Pool
