As we continue to grow and improve, we are seeking an experienced Project Programming Manager to join our team.

About the opportunity:

Main Roads is currently seeking a committed and motivated professional with strong technical capability and well-developed communication skills to fulfill these key program management roles.

As a Project Programming Manager, you will contribute to the development and review of business cases, project proposals, project estimates, programming of major infrastructure projects and demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to the safe system approach, including the road safety engineering.

You will liaise closely with Australian Government representatives to manage the approval process for major Commonwealth funded projects, and to ensure effective program management and progress reporting on project programs, budgets and progress.

You will coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery and Regional Management Directorate, to develop work programs, while effectively managing competing priorities. Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills are essential for collaborating efficiently across various stakeholders and ensuring successful project programming outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Have comprehensive experience in program development and management for major infrastructure projects, including management of scope and cost at both project and program level
  • Possess a sound understanding of project cost estimation practices and principles
  • Understand project evaluation and prioritisation methods
  • Have strong negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Be able to build and enhance relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
