About the Directorate
The Office of Defence Industries – through Defence West – works to maximise opportunities from Defence for the defence industry in Western Australia. It is focused on growing the State’s defence industry by attracting investment, fostering defence science and innovation, creating local jobs, supporting veterans and their families, and preparing the sector to support the national defence endeavour.
About You
You are a strategic thinker and skilled collaborator with a deep understanding of governance, policy, and the defence landscape in Western Australia. You bring clarity and purpose to complex initiatives, ensuring alignment with the State’s strategic priorities, including the WA Defence and Defence Industry Strategy and AUKUS-related opportunities.
You thrive in dynamic environments, where your ability to manage competing priorities, lead cross-sector projects, and deliver high-quality outcomes sets you apart. Your experience in government or defence-related contexts enables you to navigate sensitive issues with integrity and insight.
You are a confident communicator, able to distil complex information into clear, compelling advice and documentation for senior stakeholders. Whether preparing Cabinet submissions, coordinating governance forums, or driving strategic reporting, you bring precision, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.
You lead with accountability and impact, supporting the Office of Defence Industries and contributing to the broader success of Defence West. Your approach is grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement, and a passion for strengthening WA’s sovereign capability and defence readiness.
Above all, you are motivated by making a meaningful contribution — shaping policy, enabling strategic investment, and helping position Western Australia as a vital partner in the national defence endeavour.
