About the
role
This role provides strategic
leadership of the Epidemiological Analysis Team to deliver
epidemiological analysis, public health research and data request
services.
This position will manage
the operations of the team in the review, development and delivery
of epidemiological data, analysis and research. The resulting
information is to be provided in formats that can be easily
utilised by stakeholders in the support of strategic health policy
and planning decisions.
This is one of two
functional areas within the Epidemiology Directorate which is
responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of a wide
range of population health data for Western Australia. The work of
the Directorate is fundamental to the provision of evidence-based
services designed to improve the health status of Western
Australians.

role, you will need to show us your:
- Strong
leadership skills including your ability to lead change and
maintain a positive and supportive team culture.
- Knowledge and experience
in epidemiology, including conducting complex analysis and
provision of expert advice on a range of epidemiological data,
methodologies and analyses.
- Strong
stakeholder focus and ability to establish and nurture
strategic relationships and collaborations with a range of
stakeholders in various contexts.

Eligibility to
Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants
must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be
an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live
and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent
appointments).

Whilst this selection
process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may
also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the
health service. In addition to this, should the successful
applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next
most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12)
months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment
decision.
