This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time / Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time / Part Time, and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
 
Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

  • The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications, and will assess on a regular basis.
  • Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
  • Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/03/2027. 

Position Profile: This position is responsible for the review, development and implementation of systems and processes to facilitate the delivery of a comprehensive staff occupational health service at WA Country Health Service (WACHS).

Supervises the delivery of quality care to WACHS employees, developing standards of practice, implementing recommendations to changes to clinical practice as required, initiating quality improvement activities and the provision of a consultation service within the area of occupational health, fitness for work and pre- employment health assessments to all employees within WACHS.

Plans, coordinates and manages service changes, projects and initiatives to meet project goals and timelines to meet reform objectives. Service provision will be in accordance with Department needs; regional travel will be required in this role.

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia.
