The Role

Are you a proactive and energetic individual with a passion for customer service?

As a key member of the corporate services team, the Human Resources Officer works closely with members of the Executive Team and the Head of Operations to support the efficient running of College operations through effective relief coordination, payroll processing and implementation of human resource management processes. The successful applicant should be professional and possess exceptional organisational/time management skills. On a daily basis, the Human Resources Officer:

  • Coordinates the allocation of relief staff.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with relief staff.
  • Maintains accurate records of staff absences and relief cover.
  • Processes staff pays (including casual payments and additional earnings), monitoring leave applications and ensuring data accuracy in HRMIS.
  • Manages staff personnel records.
  • Monitors casual salary expenditure through use of project and function codes.
  • Provides advice to staff on human resource policies, procedures and their leave entitlements.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgement when handling sensitive staff information.

The College currently has another Human Resources Officer, and it is expected that responsibilities will be shared and rotated between staff for succession planning purposes. In the future, the successful applicant may also:

  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes including RAMS for advertising, shortlisting and appointment.
  • Process electronic advices in HRMIS – including commencements, movements, variations and terminations – to ensure the College establishment remains accurate and up to date.
  • Support induction, probation and performance management processes.
  • Manage compliance requirements including Working With Children Checks, screening and teacher registration.
  • Provide input into the development of workforce and succession plans.

We are ideally seeking applications from individuals who are proactive, solutions-focused and enjoy problem-solving in a fast-paced school environment. A working knowledge of spreadsheets is desirable.Experience with the use of RM Workspace (TRIM), SIS Cover, Compass, HRMIS and Casual Staff Seeker would also be considered as advantageous.

The successful applicant will be required to work across five days (Monday to Friday). Hours of work will be negotiated with the successful applicant however an early starting time will be required.
