About the opportunity
Are you interested in working in Broome or Karratha undertaking investigations, inspections and enforcing the fisheries legislation to the locals and tourists?
This is your opportunity to see the many spectacular locations in Northern Regions of WA in your spare time! Having the opportunity to work at sea and on land is a great balance for work.
There are currently two (2) permanent, full-time positions available for immediate filling.
You will supervise up to a team of 5 while leading the delivery of fisheries compliance activities, surveillance, education and community awareness programs and day to day operations of the district. Planning patrols and executing them at the most appropriate time. Coordinate and participate in investigations and inspections relating to breaches of fisheries and other legislation administered by the Department.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Certificate qualifications in compliance and investigations and/or possession of relevant experience.
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of relevant compliance legislation, compliance governance frameworks, and operational procedures.
- Current relevant maritime operations qualifications.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees will be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
