We are looking for a dedicated Lecturer to join our team, delivering engaging training and mentorship to students eager to learn.

We are establishing a 24-month appointment pool for vacancies that may arise. We may offer permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

About the role

We are currently looking for candidates with skills and expertise in Water Operations to plan, develop, and deliver high-quality training and assessments to students in this field.

Aligning with relevant curriculum and training package requirements, as a Lecturer, your primary responsibilities will include;

  • Teaching
  • Facilitating learning
  • Assessing student progress
  • Providing mentorship

Additionally, you will engage in professional activities and delivery-related tasks to ensure excellence in education.

To maintain the highest standards, Lecturers are expected to stay current with the latest technological advancements and industry trends through ongoing professional development. This enables you to offer up-to-date insights and guidance to both the College and the industry when needed.

Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment you must hold qualifications in

  • NWP40120 Cert IV in Water Industry Operations; or
  • NWP30222 in Water Industry Operations; or
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Accompanied by current experience working in water operations

There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 (Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 or TAESS00024).

Applicants who have yet to obtain the required VET credentials are still welcome to apply. However, successful candidates will need to be enrolled in and actively progressing through an approved training and assessment qualification—either the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a Diploma from the TAE Training Package. NM TAFE requires candidates to demonstrate satisfactory progress toward completion within two years of commencement.
