We are seeking experienced and innovative individuals to join North Regional TAFE (NR TAFE) as a Lecturer Heavy Vehicle Driving Operations Training. 

As the Lecturer Heavy Vehicle Driving Operations, you will be responsible for delivering training and assessment for the suite of heavy vehicle driving skills set and or other related Industry Area Industry Training Package this includes both theory and practical learning activities. 

As a lecturer at NR TAFE, you would be focussed on teaching, facilitating learning, assessing and mentoring students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery. In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate. 

Relevant Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for employment applicants must be able to demonstrate recent experience as a heavy haulage driver in the transport and logistics industry and have a minimum of 5 years working in the area of expertise. Desirable WA Heavy Vehicle Driving Instructor License or equivalent.

It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or can demonstrate willingness or progression towards achieving it. 

There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) as defined by the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 (Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is TAE40122/TAE40116/TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education or a secondary teaching qualification with one of the following credentials (TAESS00011/TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set).

Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however NR TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.

If you’re passionate about delivering relevant and engaging training in both classroom and workplace settings, and have experience working with diverse student groups, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), solid administrative abilities including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team — we want to hear from you!

Lecturing staff employed in 2025 are eligible to receive a Temporary Regional Incentive of $15,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE). Staff must remain employed in the location for 12 months to be eligible to receive the second payment.
