There are two, 12-month Graduate Project Officer positions available.
We are seeking to establish an 18-month recruitment pool of suitable applicants for the above-mentioned positions. Suitable applicants will be placed in the pool, where placements can be made to fill similar permanent and fixed term positions at any time during this period.
Please note permanent opportunities will only be offered to those that have permanent residency, and fixed-term opportunities for those that have the appropriate visa for the duration of the fixed-term contract.

About the Program
Our rotational Graduate Program offers two Graduate Project Officers the opportunity to contribute to purposeful projects across a range of business areas.
Over the 12-month program, you will complete two, six-month rotations. These projects will give you the opportunity to;
- apply and develop your skills in research and analysis;
- gain experience in strategic planning and business case development, aligning to government frameworks;
- build and develop relationships with key external and internal stakeholders; and
- develop your government writing skills through report writing and preparing presentations.
You will work in two of the below business areas, aligning to your qualification, skills and career interests.
- Communications and Marketing – the team is responsible for the development and management of creative and focused communication, marketing and advertising plans and strategies to promote skills and TAFE in WA. A tertiary degree or higher in Communications, Digital and Social Media, or Marketing is desirable.
- Clean Energy Skills National Centre of Excellence – the Centre serves as a front door to Australia's clean energy skills ecosystem, creating the future of clean energy employment in Western Australia and beyond. The Centre works in collaboration with WA TAFE colleges, universities, industry, and national partners to co-design training solutions, support trainers, and ensure all Australians can thrive in the clean energy economy. A tertiary degree or higher in Business and/or Commerce, Communications, Sustainable Energy or Project Management is desirable.
- Training Accreditation Council – the team is responsible for the quality assurance and recognition of the Vocational Education and Training services across WA. A tertiary degree or higher in Business and/or Commerce, Economics or Management is desirable.
- Work Health and Safety – the team provides advice and guidance on a range of work health and safety matters and supports the implementation of the Department’s Work Health and Safety Management Framework. A tertiary degree or higher in Work Health and Safety, or Human Resources is desirable.
- State Workforce Planning - the team identifies gaps in the labour market across occupation, industry and region, and designs policy interventions to address these gaps – enabling new and emerging industries across WA to grow to their full potential, creating long-term opportunities for Western Australians. A tertiary degree or higher in Economics or Data Science is desirable.

Eligibility
- We encourage international students to apply for our Graduate Program! However, you must have a valid working visa for the duration of the Graduate Program (12 months) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident at the time of the application.
- you must have completed (or will have completed) your bachelor’s degree or higher in 2024 or 2025.

- a brief covering letter not exceeding two pages, relating your skills and experience to the selection criteria listed in the attached Job Description Form;
- your preferred business areas based on your qualification, skills and career interest – this question will be asked when you submit your online application.
- a copy of your current or completed academic record;
- names and contact details of two referees, with one of your nominated referees being your current line manager if possible; and
- if you are on a working visa - a copy of your visa documentation confirming you have authority to work in Australia.
