THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The Corruption and Crime Commission (the Commission) is a leading anti-corruption agency whose purpose is to expose and disrupt corruption, serious misconduct and organised crime. The Commission works to give the WA community confidence that public officers act in the public interest.
The Operations directorate is responsible for the Commission's investigations. The two business units, Investigations and Operational Support, work together to proactively identify and investigate allegations of serious misconduct, unexplained wealth and criminal benefits. The focus of the Commission's investigations is on systemic and complex matters, many of which require the use of specialist capabilities.
The Operational Support Directorate provides covert surveillance, electronic collection and digital forensic capability in support of the Commission's investigative functions. Covert Surveillance is the division tasked with delivering the Commission's physical and technical covert surveillance function.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Assistant Director Covert Surveillance is a newly established position which will be pivotal in establishing the Commission's new Covert Surveillance operating model. The Assistant Director Covert Surveillance will be managing all aspects of the Commission's physical and technical covert surveillance function, including operatives, budget, assets and procedures.
This will be a hands-on role utilising your understanding of covert surveillance disciplines and their application, to ensure the oversight of resources and capabilities necessary for the safe and efficient operation, and deployment of the Commission's covert surveillance resources.
The Commission requires applicants to be Australian citizens or be immediately eligible for citizenship, and appointment is conditional on satisfactory completion of a rigorous security clearance process.
