About the role:

The Planning and Technical Services Directorate provides design, engineering, environmental, road safety and surveying expertise. The Directorate leads the development of integrated technical solutions and services.

The Business Manager is responsible for managing the provision of effective business services that contribute to the delivery of Directorate outcomes. This role is also responsible for managing the provision of financial management services in accordance with Main Roads policies, standards and procedures. It also oversees the management of the Directorate’s light vehicle fleet, minor plant, and facilities, ensuring assets are maintained and utilised efficiently in alignment with operational needs. The role plays a key part in motivating and managing a team, driving performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the Directorate.

You are an organised, motivated, and solutions-focused professional with a proven track record in managing business operations and leading high-performing teams. Your ability to inspire and develop staff, manage performance effectively, and foster a positive and accountable workplace culture is central to your leadership style.
