This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term appointments at various hours per fortnight with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Casual appointments may be considered.

Position Profile: Opportunities exists for Aboriginal Mental Health Workers to join our team in the Kimberley region. This position provides cultural safety and a liaison service to Aboriginal people and non-Aboriginal employees within the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service (KMHDS). This postion enhances the accessibility of mental health services to Aboriginal people and communities.   

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors. 

The Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service provides specialist community mental health and alcohol and drug services to the Kimberley and acute in-patient psychiatric care for referred patients in the Kimberley region. The service aims to deliver a comprehensive range of high quality patient/client recovery focused mental health and alcohol and drug services to both the people in the Kimberley region.
