The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage would like to encourage applicants living in regional locations (or metro locations and willing to relocate) to apply for existing and upcoming temporary opportunities via our Regional Employment Register.

Jobs Available

We are looking to establish a register of applicants to fill our regional positions as they arise.  - Opportunities may be in our regional offices or in our Perth location and  may include fixed term, full time or part time roles with possibility of extension and/or permanency, across various occupational fields and classification levels.

Positions include but are not limited to:

  • Senior Heritage Officers - work collaboratively with Traditional Owners on cultural resource management projects, Site and Protected Area Audits and to manage and preserve Aboriginal sites.
  • Senior State Land Officers - responsible for the provision of contemporary, responsive and fit for purpose land use management activities in accordance with Departmental and Government priorities.
  • Planning Support Officers - responsible for the administration of processes and procedures necessary to ensure that decisions and recommendations of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) are made in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Act 2005 and associated regulations.
  • Planning Officers – responsible for the assessment of urban and regional planning proposals. This includes pre-lodgement advice, stakeholder engagement and preparation of advice to the Department’s Executive as well as the Western Australian Planning Commission and the Minister for Planning.
  • General Policy and Project Officer roles – to work collaboratively across the Department, including administration support roles and a range of initiatives based on skills and experience.

Travel within the regional location may be required. On the job training can be provided and government housing may be available to eligible applicants.
