 About The Role:

As the Chief Digital Officer you will lead and manage the activities of the Technology Services function in the newly formed Department of Housing and Works.  This will include leading the development and implementation of the department’s new digital strategy, ensuring alignment with the whole-of-government Digital WA strategy, and will be central in shaping a digitally enabled organisation that delivers modern, accessible and customer-focused services.

The CDO will provide leadership in governance, strategy and policy for digital services and transformation across DHW. In doing this, the CDO will ensure robust cyber security measures and digital resilience through innovative and contemporary preventative, detection and monitoring capabilities.

The role is a member of the Directorate Executive and is expected to provide strategic advice and leadership, including establishing a clear vision, responding positively to change and uncertainty, and managing risks effectively. The CDO will build strong partnerships, including with senior leaders and business stakeholders, by enhancing effectiveness and efficiency for customers through the application of digital technology.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record of delivering complex transformation in large-scale or government environments. As a contemproary people leader and collaborative executive member, you thrive in a complex environment and actively seek out opportunities to contribute to the whole-of-agency strategic direction. 

Your leadership skills will champion contemporary people management practices across your multidisciplinary teams. You communicate complex information clearly in a way to engage and influence stakeholders, and you recognise the importance of delivering public value to the WA community through the delivery of digital services.

This position is a Multiple Area Leader. This means that you will lead teams to achieve the strategic direction of a number of different business areas or key priorities. You will implement operational strategy and take the lead for shaping its short- and medium-term directions. You will contribute strategic value by determining the focus areas for delivery through a broader lens and determine the timing of future growth in your business areas.
