About the Role
Heavy Vehicle Services Branch (HVS) is responsible for safe, efficient and sustainable heavy vehicle access to the Western Australian (WA) road network. Our role is to achieve objectives for road safety, transport efficiency, community amenity and preservation of the state’s road asset.
At HVS we work with State and National transport industry groups, individual operators, government bodies, regional areas and other key departments across Main Roads.
There is currently a number of vacancies available, however it is anticipated more positions may become available. A ‘pool’ of suitable applicants will therefore be established through this recruitment process and will operate for up to 12 months. Applicants may be appointed to roles as required.
Our Heavy Vehicle Access team works with stakeholders from the heavy vehicle industry to provide specialist services and advice. The major function of this role at HVS is to provide general technical support and customer service across the Access Branch involving Permits, Route Assessments, Traffic Escort Scheduling and the Heavy Vehicle Helpdesk.
On a day-to-day level this involves liaising with other HVS staff on more complex heavy vehicle enquiries, providing support for the planning and technical functions of Restricted Access Vehicle (RAV) access, contributing to improvement of ‘ ‘Permit’ products and processes, documentation and manuals. This role is also heavily customer service focussed and therefore requires someone confident and capable of dealing with a variety of stakeholders and their needs.
