The Role

Comet Bay College is seeking a committed and proactive Participation Coordinator to support student engagement through improved attendance outcomes.

In this role, you will manage an assigned caseload and provide tailored support to students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging. This includes face-to-face outreach, home visits, and collaboration with families to address attendance barriers. You will also assist Year Coordinators in the development and implementation of student attendance improvement plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and analysing whole-school attendance data to inform targeted interventions.
  • Organising and promoting whole-school events and initiatives that encourage regular attendance.
  • Designing and distributing attendance certificates and coordinating reward systems that recognise and celebrate positive attendance.
  • Providing advice to students and families on participation requirements and legislative obligations.
  • Reviewing referrals, assessing student needs, and developing individualised attendance and engagement plans, including career and transition support for students in the final years of compulsory education.

The ideal candidate will have well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills, a genuine interest in student wellbeing, and the ability to engage collaboratively with staff, students, and families to promote student success.
