About The Roles:

Senior Project Officer, Level 5

The Senior Project Officer position assists Senior Project Managers on a range of non-residential building projects including hospitals and medical facilities, schools and TAFE colleges, police stations, fire stations and State Emergency Service bases, sports facilities, cultural venues and a range of other building types.

The position is responsible for managing project outcomes and project management of low to medium value and risk and complexity projects, inclusive of the management of contracts, contractors and consultants, as well as a wide range of minor works and maintenance activities, in regional communities. The role contributes to project teams of public and private sector professionals, to plan and deliver projects for government, including working closely with local industry and regional client agencies to promote whole-of-government policies and objectives.

Project Manager, Level 6

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of infrastructure projects and programs, including the project management of medium to high value and risk projects in regional communities, as well as a wide range of minor works and maintenance activities.

The role leads public and private sector professionals to plan, deliver and maintain buildings for Government, and works closely with local industry and regional client agencies to promote whole-of-government policies and objectives.

About You:

We are seeking candidates who:

Are passionate about supporting local (regional) communities through delivery of high-quality services to maintain, build or restore infrastructure within the Southern Region.

Understand the challenges involved in delivering building and construction projects, maintenance, and related services, particularly within a regional context.

Possess proficient project management skills, preferably with experience in managing a range of concurrent, non-residential building and/or maintenance projects and programs.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills with experience engaging with clients and contractors, and well-developed written skills, for preparing a range of tender documents.  An understanding of the challenges, and experience working in regional areas, would be of benefit.

Both positions operate in Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.
