The Western Australia Police Force seeks a highly motivated individual to lead the Strategic Planning Team within Asset Planning, Asset Management Directorate.

Asset Planning is one of four business units within Asset Management including Asset Delivery, Asset Operations and Asset Projects.

As an inclusive and strategic-thinking leader, you will actively contribute to supporting frontline police officers to keep our community safe. You will directly see the benefits of your service delivery, supporting police building assets across the state.

You will manage, lead and coordinate the Strategic Asset Planning cycle for land, infrastructure and accommodation, in the largest policing jurisdiction in the world. Supporting the future of infrastructure capability for personnel who operate in some of the most isolated, challenging and unique landscapes. 

THE ROLE 

You will lead strategic planning initiatives by interpreting and applying the Strategic Asset Management Framework (SAMF) to inform the agency’s Strategic Asset Plan, while also leading the development of the Strategic Office Accommodation Plan (SOAP) for the Western Australia Police Force.

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in Strategic Asset Planning and a understanding of government office accommodation policies and standards. This role will lead the development and execution of long-term accommodation and asset strategies that underpin critical law enforcement operations across the state.

As a key leadership position, it is responsible for shaping the agency’s future infrastructure through strategic planning and effective stakeholder engagement. Core responsibilities include managing the annual strategic asset planning budget cycle, developing the agency accommodation roadmap and facilitating the asset disposal program. The role also involves overseeing land acquisition, contributing to financial reporting and policy development.

The Executive Manager will provide expert advice on asset planning, ensure alignment with government policies, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Department of Treasury, Infrastructure Western Australia, other state government agencies and local governments. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, drive performance, foster innovation, and support professional growth. You’ll also coordinate and report on key projects across the agency. HOW TO APPLY

Experience in strategic asset management planning - Managing the development and maintenance of the Strategic Asset Plan, Capital Investment Plan and associated asset management plans including the agency’s accommodation plan to meet agency expected outcomes in accordance with Government’s Strategic Asset Management Framework.
  2. Contemporary knowledge and experience in land acquisitions, building disposals, and building renewal planning and assets management - Understanding and applying major industry changes and trends as it would apply to a government agency. Implementing government financial policies and procedures. Working within operations of a large decentralised and geographically dispersed organisation.
  3. Analytical and conceptual ability - Managing research into asset-related change. Researching and developing options for change. Applying initiative, identifying patterns, pre-empting issues and recommending solutions.
  4. Ability to interpret and apply policy, practices and procedures - Providing advice for the review and development of high-level asset management policy as it pertains to public assets. Implementing policies and strategies to ensure consistency with WA Police Force and government policy and practices.
