About the role
Main Roads has an exciting Safety Officer Regional position available in the Wheatbelt Region. Based in Northam, we are looking for a passionate and safety outcome focussed individual to work as a part of a team to facilitate knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislative, standards and requirements as well as the Main Roads SHW Framework across the region’s multidisciplinary workforce. This will be achieved through:
- Clear communication with workers,
- Provision of guidance and training to workers on Main Roads safety procedures and safe work practices, and
- Monitoring and supporting worker participation by undertaking regular worksite inspections to assess compliance with safety regulations and report back on outcomes.

About You
To be successful, you will exhibit the following attributes:
- experience in facilitating knowledge of work health, safety and well-being to white-collar and blue-collar workforce operating in a regional location
- a proven background in assessing and identifying risk and potential hazards including control measures in line with the organisation’s safety system standards and requirements.
- problem-solving with strong attention to detail
- great communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- provision of incident investigation and site inspection audits
