The Opportunity
Are you someone who loves working with cutting-edge technology? A traineeship in materials engineering with Main Roads Western Australia could be the perfect opportunity for you!
In this role, you’ll get hands-on experience in choosing and testing the materials that go into building some of WA’s most important roads, bridges, and highways. From picking the best materials for different environments to making sure they stand up to heavy traffic and extreme weather, you'll play a key part in making sure roads are safe, durable, and built to last.
You’ll also have the chance to explore exciting innovations in sustainable materials, helping to create roads that are not only long-lasting but also better for the environment. Whether it's researching and testing new ways to improve road surfaces or figuring out how to fix and maintain existing roads, you’ll be making a real difference in how we travel across the state.
As a Technical Trainee – Materials, you’ll shadow experts in the field on real projects; investigating and testing materials and, operating and assisting with calibrating specialised equipment. If you’re a mathematically or science minded individual, and interested in a job where you can earn while you learn, this is your chance to start your career on the right track!
