About the opportunity
There is currently one fixed-term position for 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling. This position will have responsibility of the Katanning Research Station and be responsible for high level farm operations, budgets, staff and assets. The role will primarily be responsible for supporting team management, reviewing and streamlining processes, governance reviews and high-level coordination and support required to run a livestock-based research station. A background in sheep or mixed farming or supporting roles in sheep research is highly desirable.
What will your typical day look like?
We are looking for an experience Project Manager that has experience in the mixed farming or the livestock sector, with a key focus on relationship building within teams and externally and who has experience in leading teams responsible for managing broad acre livestock properties.
In this role you will liaise with senior DPIRD staff, key industry stakeholders and contribute to the economic development and growth in livestock industries.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Substantial experience in highly complex project management in an economic development environment.
- Demonstrated ability to engage key stakeholders in the identification of future; science, economic and social needs and goals of the industry and, the response required to deliver those needs.
- Capability to achieve balanced outcomes through managing competing deadlines, driving continuous improvements and effectively managing change, while recognising the competing social, economic and environmental priorities of stakeholders.
- Highly developed strategic; leadership, planning and management skills with a highly developed ability to motivate and influence people.

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency, and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
