There are two permanent full-time positions at our Broome and Karratha campuses available for immediate filling.
North Regional TAFE are seeking to establish an open recruitment pool. This pool will be used to appoint suitable applicants as vacancies arise, which may include full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term vacancies, with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
Here’s what you need to know:
- How to apply: You can apply anytime during the open pool period.
- Application reviews: Applications are expected to be assessed every 3 months, but this can vary based on operational needs.
- Pool Selection: Only those applicants who have been assessed as suitable through a merit selection process can be considered for selection to the pool. Appointment from the pool to a vacancy, is not guaranteed.
- Outcome: You will receive advice that you have been recommended for appointment to the pool or that you were unsuccessful for appointment to the pool. If you're not successful, you can request feedback and can reapply in the future.
- Appointments: May be made from this pool until 4 July 2027.

About the Position
This position will be delivering Certificate I, II, III, IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management; Certificate II and III in Horticulture and associated short courses and skill sets such as chemical handling and chainsaw at Karratha and Broome campuses. Considerable travel will be required for this role.
To be successful, you will have the following…
- Significant relevant industry/ vocational or lecturing experience (minimum of 5 years)
- Relevant vocational qualifications and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered and assessed including:
- minimum Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or equivalent) or;
- minimum Certificate III in Agriculture, Horticulture or similar with significant industry experience in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or can demonstrate willingness or progression towards achieving it.

Lecturing staff employed in 2025 are eligible to receive a Temporary Regional Incentive of $15,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at NRTAFE, with the remainder paid on the anniversary of start date. Staff must remain employed in the location for 12 months to be eligible to receive the second payment.
