This is a recruitment pool with Permanent and Fixed Term Part Time (0.60FTE) (48 hours per fortnight) opportunity with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile and Role:

We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Team.

You will assist with planning and implementing group and individual Allied Health programs at Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Inpatient Unit under the direction and supervision of the Senior Occupational Therapist or their delegate.

About Directorate:

The Mental Health Inpatient Unit on Ward 5A at Perth Children’s Hospital is the state-wide assessment and treatment facility for children and young people up to 16 years old with complex and acute mental health issues. It is a recovery-focused patient and family-centered service.

It offers a seven-day multidisciplinary program in a safe environment for voluntary and involuntary patients as authorised under the Mental Health Act (2014).

The unit offers short term assessment, brief intervention, and therapeutic group programs, depending on the needs of the patient.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above fixed-term vacancies, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.


Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 22/05/2026.
