About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

About the role
Executive Support/Ministerial and Administration
Executive Support/Ministerial and Administration roles are primarily responsible for administrative and secretarial support to the executive and senior staff in Treasury and Finance. This includes discretely dealing with confidential and sensitive information, ability to plan and coordinate multiple priorities and meet required deadlines and experience in the use of Word, Outlook, Excel and the capacity to use and learn other applications and systems.
Human Resources
Human Resources works in partnership with Treasury and Finance business areas to drive solutions and initiatives. This includes building the capacity, performance and sustainability of Treasury and Finance through the delivery of effective corporate services that covers Workforce Management, Talent Programs and Organisational Development.
Accounting/Financial Management and Procurement
The Accounting/Financial Management and Procurement team, has qualified finance professionals with substantial knowledge of financial management practices and standards, including experience in a corporate finance, accounting and procurement environment.
Strategic Information and Communications Technology
Strategic ICT contributes to the achievement of Treasury and Finance’s strategic and operational goals and leads the development and ongoing management of Treasury and Finance's Strategic ICT team and plan. The team also partners with Treasury and Finance business areas to provide customer focused solutions and leads the oversight of ICT service delivery according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including system performance, availability, security, and recoverability.
Communications
Communications is part of the Office of the Under Treasurer and Finance business unit. As strategic advisors, the Communications team ensures staff and stakeholders are informed and engaged with Treasury and Finance at the centre of government decision-making. They ensure clear and consistent branding; develop and implement strategic communications plans and advice; produce publication-ready versions of key reports and coordinate Treasuryand Finance's internal and external communications channels.
Governance/Risk and Audit Management
These roles contribute to aligning the departments business objectives with regulatory requirements, risk management, and internal controls, ensuring that business leaders, security teams, and compliance officers, work together to navigate regulatory complexity, mitigate risks, and establish clear accountability across teams.
