North Regional TAFE are seeking to establish an open recruitment pool. This pool will be used to appoint suitable applicants as vacancies arise, which may include full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term vacancies, with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
Here’s what you need to know:
- How to apply: You can apply anytime during the open pool period.
- Application reviews: Applications are expected to be assessed every 3 months, but this can vary based on operational needs.
- Pool Selection: Only those applicants who have been assessed as suitable through a merit selection process can be considered for selection to the pool. Appointment from the pool to a vacancy, is not guaranteed.
- Outcome: You will receive advice that you have been recommended for appointment to the pool or that you were unsuccessful for appointment to the pool. If you're not successful, you can request feedback and can reapply in the future.
- Appointments: May be made from this pool until 4 July 2027.
North Regional TAFE (NRT) reserves the right to extend or cease advertising at any given time in the future.
We have current expected demand for people with qualifications and experience in the following industries.
- Automotive - including heavy, light vehicle and heavy diesel (mobile plant)
- Building and Construction - including building design and/or registration, carpentry & joinery, construction, high risk tickets and rail infrastructure
- Electrical and Electrotechnology – including automation/robotic control systems, electrical engineering and instrumentation
- Fitting and Machining - including the use of the precision tools, mechanical components to repair and assemble machining components
- High Risk - holds a WorkSafe WA High Risk Assessors License or have the ability to obtain one. LF, WP, DG, RB, CN
- Civil Construction - including plant operations and surface extraction operations.

About the Position
We are looking for an inspirational lecturer who is passionate about passing their vocation onto the workforce of the future.
To be successful, you will have the following…
- Significant relevant industry/ vocational or lecturing experience (minimum of 5 years)
- Relevant vocational qualifications and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered:
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent)
- UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent)
- MEM30105 Certificate III Engineering- Mechanical Trade Fitting & Machining (or equivalent)
- MEM31922 Certification III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
- MEM31219 Certificate III in Engineering - Industrial Electrician (or equivalent)
- MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering – Instrumentation (or equivalent)
- RII30820 Certification III in Civil Construction Plant Operations (or equivalent)
- RII20220 Certification II in Surface Extraction Operations (or equivalent)
- WorkSafe WA High Risk Assessors License
It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or can demonstrate willingness or progression towards achieving it.

Lecturing staff employed in 2025 are eligible to receive a Temporary Regional Incentive of $15,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at NRTAFE, with the remainder paid on the anniversary of start date. Staff must remain employed in the location for 12 months to be eligible to receive the second payment.
