About the Role
This is a great opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to join the Intergovernmental Relations Team (IGR). We lead Western Australia’s engagement with the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments, including preparing advice for the Premier to use in National Cabinet, working on national reforms with IGR colleagues across the country and partnering with line agencies to get the best outcomes for WA.
The Policy Officer provides policy support and advice, assists in research and analysis in relation to the development, implementation and review of Government priorities from a cross-portfolio perspective. In this role you will be supported and mentored by the broader team to increase your knowledge, refine your skills, and develop your craft.
To be successful in this role you will have an inquisitive mind and be a strategic thinker. You will apply your well-developed research and analytical skills to inform the development and evaluation of evidence-based policy and use your well-developed written and verbal communication skills to establish understanding and achieve results. Most of all, you will have excellent people skills and love working in a complex, dynamic and fast paced environment.
