We have an
immediate permanent full-time opportunity
on the South Acute Care & Response Team
(ACRT). Part time or fixed term work arrangement may be available.
This recruitment pool may be used to fill future similar
vacancies.
We are building
Acute Care & Response Teams (ACRT) to serve the north,
south and east metro regional areas. The current vacancy is on our
South ACRT which serves the Fremantle, Rockingham, Mandurah
areas.
About
the Acute Care & Response Team (ACRT):
CAMHS is set to transform
its services in line with
ICA Taskforce recommendations. The ACRT is a
new service model, arising from the ICA Taskforce. The team will
provide a step up in intensity of service to children and
adolescents experiencing a crisis or deterioration in their mental
health. This will include crisis response, assessment, safety
planning,short-term intervention, planning for ongoing care, and
supplementary care for children with severe and enduring mental ill
health. Care will be provided close to home in a community setting,
reducing the need for hospital presentations. The South ACRT will
provide a service to children and adolescents who live in the
southern region of the Perth metropolitan area (Fremantle,
Rockingham, Mandurah).
As mental health conditions
can deeply impact the emotional and social well-being of children
and their families, our holistic and child-centred approach is
designed to assist families and is focused on participation and
engagement.
As a clinician on the team,
you’ll be required to conduct home and community visits
during business hours and out of hours on a rostered basis,
including after hours and on weekends, based on operational needs.
You’ll be part of a team that prioritises patient and staff
safety and receive training and ongoing
supervision.

About
the Role:
As the Clinical
Nurse Consultant you’ll have a dual role, comprising
of both clinical and managerial responsibilities. The CNC will be
the team leader of the ACRT and manage a large and dynamic
multi-disciplinary team. You’ll also be responsible for
relationship building, service planning, staff training and
development, and continuous improvement.
What you will
bring:
- Extensive experience as
a senior clinical nurse within a mental health
setting
- Experience working in a
community setting is valuable
- Flexibility and
adaptability in leading the development of a new
service
- Ability
to work collaboratively across internal and external teams,
services and stakeholders
Registration as a
Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is
required. Possession of, or significant progression toward the
attainment of a post graduate qualification in area of specialty is
desired.

Community CAMHS– Community CAMHS
offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary
intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18
years.

Specialist Services and Day
Programs– The Specialist Services and Day
Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity
Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and
Touchstone. These programs support children and young people
who have complex mental health needs.

Acute CAMHS– Acute CAMHS, based at
Perth Children’s Hospital has a mental health inpatient
unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric Inpatient In-Reach Team
(PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity
Service.
