The Role

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have excellent organisational skills and possess the ability to plan and prioritise tasks and work well under pressure. You should ideally have a strong knowledge of theatre operations, equipment and maintenance and venue operations. Within The Arts Learning Area there is a lot of additional work in showcases, productions, concerts etc which will need support in the organisation and running of these events which is often outside of normal school hours and at times, produce a very busy calendar of events. The successful applicant should be available to assist in the rehearsals and delivery of these events within roles in all technical areas and with an ability to train staff and students in a collection of these tasks. Professionalism and an eye for detail in the presentation of these events is also something that is prioritised at the College.

In addition to the tech support of these events, the successful applicant should understand stage management and prop development for theatrical and dance performances. Support in designing the set and props is desirable, as well as construction and storage of these pieces before and after the shows. Maintenance of the props storeroom and set pieces will be an ongoing task, requiring awareness of appropriate safety requirements.

Experience in live streaming, radio broadcasting and video editing is preferred but not required as these are ongoing, additional tasks associated with the role. As the theatre transitions to a new lighting system, experience with programming and operating the ETC lighting program would also be advantageous.
