Position Profile: The Information and System Performance Directorate (ISPD) in the Department of Health is seeking an experienced person for role of Senior Data Engineer – Data Linkage within the Data Linkage team of the Data and Information Systems business unit.
As Senior Data Engineer you will:
- Lead the continuous improvement of the WA Data Linkage System (WADLS), ensuring its capabilities evolve to meet emerging research and policy needs. This includes linkage work for the new and enduring state-wide and national linked data assets, including “PeopleWA” (operationally managed by Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Office of Digital Government), the “Australian National Data Integration Infrastructure (ANDII)”, the “National Health Data Hub” (NHDH), and the “National Disability Data Asset (NDDA)”, all managed and operated by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), in collaboration with State and Territory data linkage units.
- Support and mentor the data linkage team, providing training, advice, and leadership to achieve key deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to build strong relationships that advance data linkage initiatives.
- Set a strong example by demonstrating integrity and professionalism and inspire these values in others by fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, respect, and empowerment.
