The Role
Applecross SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Workplace Learning (WPL) Coordinator to join the existing VET team.
The successful applicant will provide administrative support to ensure continued and efficient operation of the school’s VET and Workplace Learning (WPL) programs. A range of databases are used to record and manage student enrolments, progress and completion of their Vocational programs. The ability to pay attention to detail is crucial in this role, so that records are regularly updated and accurate.
The VET and WPL Coordinator will assist the VET Manager in promoting, enrolling, and resulting students in diverse opportunities. Some of these include qualifications delivered at Applecross SHS, external courses, School-Based Traineeships, Try A Trades and Career Tasters. Other duties include training support staff in VET and WPL, sourcing work placements and inducting new employers, completion of associated documentation to meet compliance requirements, conducting workplace site checks, monitoring student attendance and progress in external programs and the workplace, and regularly checking Workplace Learning hours.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with students, parents and colleagues. A willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment to support students, VET staff and the VET Manager is essential in providing positive outcomes for students.
