About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a Senior Engineer – Systems & Assurance to join our Network & Infrastructure Division. In this critical role, you will provide engineering assurance expertise, leadership, and management across the lifecycle of projects focused on improving, expanding, and maintaining the PTA’s network. Your work will align with regulatory requirements and PTA’s engineering system standards, contributing to the division’s operational performance and supporting the Engineering Manager in developing a skilled and motivated workforce.
Your responsibilities include implementing Engineering Management Framework processes, developing strategies for Asset Readiness, Entry Into Service (EIS), and Final Asset Assessment (FAA), and ensuring compliance with PTA and legislative requirements. You will also manage project delivery aspects such as financial management, risk management, and performance reporting, while fostering a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety, engineering design, and project delivery.
About you!
- Relevant engineering qualifications with extensive experience in multi-discipline technical knowledge, engineering assurance, system engineering principles, and system safety management throughout complex project lifecycles.
- Proven ability to manage operational teams and resources effectively, achieving targets while delivering customer-focused services.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to build stakeholder relationships, consult effectively, and solve complex technical problems.
- Well-developed organizational skills to meet deadlines, along with proficiency in MS Office, analytical software, and relevant computer programs.

There is currently one fixed term opportunity available to 31 July 2027 with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
