Byford Secondary College (SC) is a newer school in Perth’s southern suburbs. We have first class facilities to support high quality teaching and learning programs in our college. Located approximately 30 kilometres from the Perth CBD, our College caters for 1500 students in Years 7 through to 12 students. The Role
Byford SC is seeking to appoint a dedicated, fluent and enthusiastic German - Languages Teacher. We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about language learning and the opportunities it provides for young people.
Languages was first introduced at Byford SC in 2022, and in 2025 we will have our first group of Year 10’s studying German as an elective. We are hoping to continue this into Year 11 and 12 as the subject continues to grow in future years. There is flexibility to increase the FTE if the successful applicant is willing to teach in another learning area.
You would be working with a highly motivated and driven Languages team who are committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. We are looking for a collaborative team member that can work with the existing staff to plan, assess, differentiate, and moderate innovative language learning to engage all students at the College. Extracurricular opportunities are a significant part of the planning to engage students, where we have been working closely with language associations to promote the learning of a language and upskill our teachers. Our first bi-annual tour of Germany excursion is also planned for 2025 as further evidence of our commitment to growing the subject.
