This is an open pool recruitment process for permanent and fixed term, full time and part time vacancies, accepting applications for 12 months up to April 2025. If you are deemed suitable, you will be placed in a pool from which appointments can be made when vacancies arise across Communities.
As this is an open pool you can apply at any time and the assessment of applications will be conducted on a regular basis.
There will be several assessments throughout the year and applicants will be advised when assessment of their application is progressing and advised of the outcome in due course. If your application is unsuccessful, you can reapply up to the closing date of the pool. You are strongly encouraged to seek feedback before you reapply.

Child Protection Work is challenging, rewarding, and fulfilling. Working alongside families, other agencies and Community organisations, you’ll foster meaningful and productive relationships to help families build safety and support for their family members.
Child Protection Workers and Field Workers have responsibilities covering all aspects of child protection work. They respond to concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children, taking legal action where necessary, and maintain positive links and strong working relationships with other government and non-government agencies. You will also have the chance to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, fostering a rich learning experience.

Which position do I apply for?
Under our Child Protection Workforce Model, priority will be given to qualified applicants in the first instance to maintain a qualified workforce.
If you have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or relevant human services area, please apply for the Child Protection Worker position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.

To help us assess your qualifications please ensure the following is included in your application:
- Degree certificate, or other evidence of completion.
- Full official academic transcript that clearly states the date that the degree was conferred, and each unit of study.
- Unit descriptors or syllabus. These are a brief summary of the unit content and should be copied and pasted into one legible Word document.
- Overseas qualifications assessment (if applicable)
Applications that do not include the required supporting information may have their assessment delayed.
New graduates welcome! If you are a new graduate, we encourage you to apply for the Child Protection Worker position.
If your graduation date is upcoming and you are found suitable for the Field Worker role, you can convert to the Child Protection Worker role upon completion of your degree if you are assessed as meeting the specified calling qualification requirements.
If you do not hold an approved qualification, please apply for the Field Worker position.
