About the role
As a trainee, you will learn and develop a range of public administration skills that support your business area. Your duties will include a range of computer-based activities and tasks including:
- Customer service via phone, email and in person
- Data entry, file management, record keeping and word processing
- Utilising Departmental systems and Microsoft Office
- Other duties as required by the business area
You will also be given academic support and guidance to complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Government.
Eligibility
Whether you are looking for a pathway to employment or have recently graduated high school, we are looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic people who:
- Have an interest in a career working for the Department of Justice.
- are committed to working full-time for 12 months in an office environment.
- are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and are recognised as such by the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
- are willing to undergo an employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
