Are you passionate about hospitality and event management? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? As part of Arts and Culture Trust, Albany Entertainment Centre is seeking a dedicated Catering Coordinator to lead our exceptional team of catering attendants. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, a knack for leadership, and a love for creating memorable experiences.
As a Catering Coordinator, you will be responsible for organising and scheduling all catering staff, including temporary personnel, to meet weekly operational needs. You will liaise with function organizers to ensure seamless event execution, set up function room furniture as needed, and ensure all necessary catering stock is ordered and available. Monthly and end-of-year stock takes and reconciliations will be part of your responsibilities, along with maintaining a safe workplace by adhering to occupational safety and health standards.
In addition to your operational duties, you'll get to unleash your creative side by creating the graphic design for menus and designing function table settings. You'll be the tech wizard responsible for programming and maintaining the Point of Sales (POS) system, ensuring everything runs without a hitch.
You'll also be our go-to person for coordinating with POS support contractors, keeping things smooth and efficient. Your role will be like a well-oiled machine, ensuring seamless interdepartmental collaboration and promptly reporting any maintenance issues that arise. And yes, you'll even get to manage and launder our fabulous catering linen, adding a touch of sparkle to our operations. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are key, as you'll dive into various tasks that keep our events running like clockwork!
To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Venue Operations, preferably in the event and hospitality industry. A proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service and swiftly address client concerns is essential. You must demonstrate initiative, efficiency, and exceptional time management skills, alongside experience in managing and leading a team.
At AEC, we value our team and are committed to providing a supportive and stimulating work environment. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact, lead a dedicated team, and work in a dynamic and rewarding industry.
If you're ready to take on this exciting role and contribute to the success of our events, we want to hear from you! Apply today and be part of a team that delivers excellence in every event.
