About the role

Spatial WA is a five-year Program to deliver a whole of government Advanced Spatial Digital Twin for the State. It will enable agencies to access, share and use spatial and non-spatial data with advanced capabilities for visualisation, analytics, predictive modelling, and digital workflows, to improve collaboration and decision making across government. The Program is complex and will be delivered in a dynamic and fast paced project environment, working with key agencies across the sector to deliver the outcomes needed for the State.

Landgate, as the delivery agency for Spatial WA, is seeking a Communications and Engagement Lead to deliver strategic communications across the Program. The lead will be responsible for generating key messaging for the Program, coordinating stakeholder engagement activities and maintaining all Spatial WA channels such as website social media and traditional media.

Working on Spatial WA will provide you:

  • Exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, to explore opportunities to solve some of Governments biggest challenges.
  • A chance to improve how WA Government streamlines collaboration to explore new opportunities for State projects and priorities.
  • Flexibility of working rosters, allowing up to 50% per fortnight as work from home.

This role will be offered on a fixed term basis up until to 30 June 2028, with possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, please demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in project communications, especially relating to developing and implementing a range of online and face to face communication and engagement strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain complex concepts and information and to tailor your style and format for a range of audiences.
  • Organisational skills to establish timeframes for activities and work effectively under pressure and respond to changing situations to deliver quality outcomes on deadline and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal skills and sound judgment to navigate relationships, overcome barriers and negotiate to resolve issues and conflicts.
