About the Role
The purpose of the Program Management Office (PMO) is to deliver a service to Main Roads stakeholders that will support the agency’s project management effort and promote consistent project and contract management practices across the organisation. The PMO is a small and dynamic team located within the Finance and Commercial Services Directorate.
This is an exciting opportunity for two experienced Cost Estimators to work with development and delivery teams to ensure accurate estimates are prepared for Main Roads infrastructure projects.
The focus of the role is to deliver accurate cost estimates for Main Roads infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the measurement of quantities at all project stages, as well as being able to estimate from first principles.
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess:
- Strong knowledge of construction costs and estimating
- Proficient skills using estimating related software
- Experience working on civil infrastructure projects, preferably with a large civil infrastructure delivery organisation
- Proven ability to manage business relationships with project stakeholders
- Confidence working in teams
- Strong negotiation/resolution skills and commercial awareness
- Good attention to detail and time management skills.

Submitting Your Application

- A comprehensive CV demonstrating their relevant skills and abilities within the context of the Job Role Statement.
- A statement outlining your substantial skill, knowledge and experience in the following four (4) criteria in no more than three (3) pages:
- Estimating for capital projects across civil works or major infrastructure preferably in a large civil infrastructure delivery organisation.
- Estimating from first principles using estimating software (such as Expert Estimation) and measurement software (such as CostX).
- Claims management and administration in a civil infrastructure delivery environment.
- Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships.
- A copy of your current Western Australian motor vehicle (car) Driver’s Licence or approved equivalent.
- If applicable, your Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or other related discipline.

All selection criteria listed in the Job Role Statement will be tested throughout the selection process.
The successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical questionnaire and obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to appointment as part of this recruitment process.
