About the role
Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and passionate Science and/or Mathematics Teacher to teach classes across our Year 8 to 10 Integrated Learning Pathway Program.
The successful applicant will teach smaller classes of approximately 22 students, who require a differentiated and scaffolded approach to teaching and learning. As well as smaller class sizes, students in the Integrated Learning Program are immersed in an educationally supportive and caring environment to better meet their learning needs. As such, the successful applicant should display genuine care and consideration for students, have the ability to promote an environment of active and positive engagement, and should be able to build positive relationships that support students to thrive in their education.
As the Science and Maths teacher (Year 8 – 10) you will deliver an adapted Science and Maths curriculum to maximise student engagement and confidence in their learning. To compliment the academic component of the program the Integrated Learning Program embeds social-emotional learning into classroom learning through our Zones of Regulation and You Can Do It Programs.
This opportunity would suit, but is not limited to, an applicant with knowledge, skills and/or experience in lower or middle secondary, or upper primary school. The successful applicant will ideally also have a strong skillset in working with students with low literacy and numeracy. We are looking for a teacher who possesses an underlying passion, interest and commitment to nurturing positive academic, social-emotional and well-being outcomes for students to inspire personal growth, enjoyment and success with their learning.
The successful applicant should be driven by the belief that all students can be successful learners through the delivery of a high-quality differentiated teaching and learning program, strong teacher-student relationships and high expectations for learning and achievement.

You should enjoy working in a dynamic team environment, consisting of 3 other Integrated Learning teachers and a Teacher In-charge of the Program. Coastal Lakes College located in Lakelands, a south western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and will cater for students in Years 7 to 12 in 2024. It is a contemporary College and boasts state of the art facilities. We are a fast growing and innovative college which also includes an Inclusive Education Hub for students with moderate to severe and profound disabilities and will cater for students in Years 7 to 12 by 2024 across the college.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
