The Opportunity
Our Transport Planning branch is looking to create a pool of highly motivated Senior Project Officer’s with transport planning experience to join their busy team.
This role will undertake key tasks in the delivery of several exciting and innovative projects including the Perth Greater CBD Transport Plan, Mid-Tier Transport Planning, and the Movement and Place Framework as well as preparing responses to Statutory referrals.
To be successful in this position you will have a background in urban and/or transport planning, as well as experience in integrated transport planning. The role will have you managing and assisting in the delivery of complex projects that shape and support future transport network and systems. You will possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload. You will collaborate with a number of stakeholders, building and maintaining effective communication and relationships by liaising and engaging in a purposeful, concise and effective manner.

Currently there are two (2) full-time fixed term opportunity available for immediate filling, with the possibility of extension and permanency.
We need someone who can
- Shape and drive strategic transport planning for Perth and Western Australia.
- Provide advice on a range of strategic and statutory transport planning issues.
- Produce and contribute to key government documents including business cases and budget submissions.
- Work effectively in a team environment to achieve positive transport outcomes.
- Communicate and influence at a senior level with a range of stakeholders including industry and government bodies.
- Cultivate strong, productive working relationships and partnerships.
- Exemplify personal integrity and self-awareness.
- Achieve results through the development of performance indicators and performance assessment methodologies.
Successful applicants will be required to hold or obtain a current National Police prior to commencement.

What is a recruitment pool?
This is a pool recruitment process; we use recruitment pools to build a bank of talent who we feel might be suited to future opportunities within the Department of Transport. You may join us on a full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanent basis however an appointment is not guaranteed.
The recruitment pool will remain open for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of first appointment.

- (SC 1.1) Substantial experience in urban/transport planning processes and policies, as they apply to planning and development for transport networks.
- (SC 1.2) Demonstrated experience in leading transport planning projects.
