About the Opportunity
Three exciting Structural Engineer positions have become available within our Structures Engineering Branch - Planning and Technical Services Directorate.
The Structures Engineering Branch facilitates the management of the state’s bridge assets, providing appropriate advice on technical issues for structures and waterways. Main activities include bridge inspections, bridge load ratings, hydraulic and hydrology design, project design reviews, technical advice, review and development of standards and heavy vehicle bridge assessments as well as selected design works. Undertaking research projects is a small but important part of the Branch’s activities.

About You
Main Roads is looking for individuals to perform the maintenance and refurbishment design of existing bridges, assessment of bridge heavy load movements, structures asset and condition management tasks, and support in the waterway design of structures. This role requires you to perform your work under general direction and more complex tasks under professional supervision. As a Structural Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of bridge related projects throughout the state including bridge asset management.
A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering as well as experience in bridge design, construction and maintenance, or waterways for major structures will be critical to your success in this role.

- A statement outlining your considerable skill, knowledge and experience in the following four (4) criteria in no more than three (3) pages:
- One or more of bridge design, construction and maintenance or waterways for major structures
- Analysis and design of concrete and steel structures
- Research, analysis and problem solving
- Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
- Evidence of your Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Evidence of your possession of a current Western Australian ‘C-A’ Class (car) motor vehicle driver’s licence or an approved equivalent.
