The key role of the Network Operations Directorate is to optimise the performance of the existing road network to facilitate the movement of people and freight safely, reliably and efficiently throughout Western Australia.

We are looking for a number of individuals who will utilise their traffic engineering experience and knowledge to protect and improve the integrity, efficiency, and safety of the road network.

Your traffic investigation, analysis and problem-solving skills, as well as your proven ability to build and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders are essential for success in this role. 

The Traffic Management Services branch is growing and this presents exciting opportunities for new members to join the team.

About the Role

In this role, your key goal will be to improve the safety and efficiency of Western Australia’s Road network. Tasks and deliverables will include:

  • Investigating road safety and efficiency issues, formulating solutions where required and providing appropriate advice to customers.
  • Preparing, reviewing and analysing traffic models.
  • Monitoring the efficiency and safety of the road network and investigating and proposing improvements for inclusion in the Traffic Improvement Program.
  • Reviewing Development Applications (DAs) for traffic and safety issues.
  • Arranging for the delivery of minor improvements, including signs and pavement marking.

  3. written communication, report writing
  •  A copy of your WA Driver’s Licence or approved equivalent
  • If applicable, please attach a copy of your Diploma in Engineering or other relevant disciplines.

Applicants who apply will be assessed for suitability at either Level 4 or Level 5, as determined by the panel through the selection process, based on your skills, knowledge and experience as they relate to both positions.
